Frames of Love

Frames of Love is an editorial book that explores how love is remembered, expressed, and constructed in cinema. Using film as a cultural archive, the project investigates how emotional narratives are visually communicated across decades of filmmaking.

Through a curated selection of 50 different movies, the book maps recurring cinematic motifs such as first encounters, love triangles, car scenes, objects of love, letters, and final endings. These themes are used to examine the visual language of love and how it is shaped by genre, tone, and historical context.

Aimed at readers interested in visual culture, film, and editorial storytelling. A grid-based layout and considered sequencing guide the viewer through a rhythm inspired by cinematic pacing. It is bound with exposed-thread Coptic binding, complemented by a debossed cover.

Original Machines

For the fictional Design Museum’s Original Machines exhibition, I developed a visual identity exploring the intense and complex relationship of ‘The Body as a Machine.’

Through art direction, photography, dynamic layouts, and developing a cohesive design system, the concept focuses on twins connected by wires, symbolizing duplication, connection, and control. Inspired by performance artists like Marina Abramović, the visuals capture the body in states of resistance and ritual. The wires are not just decorative; they bind and transmit, emphasizing tension and transformation. This project highlights how the body reveals the machine within, rather than being replaced by it. The identity was adapted across various assets, forming a versatile media package to suit different formats and platforms.

Identity Reloaded for Dazed:
The Evolve Issue

Identity Reloaded
is a fictional campaign I conceptualized, art directed, and photographed for a new Dazed issue, exploring the intersection of fashion, transformation, and the digital age. The project delves into the "in-between," blurring the lines between the physical and virtual worlds while redefining identity in a constantly evolving landscape. Drawing on Gestalt principles, I combined bold typography, dynamic design elements, and photography to create an immersive experience across print and digital platforms. This project allowed me to blend art direction, fashion, editorial design, and storytelling, resulting in a visually compelling narrative that engages across multiple mediums.

Universal Music Group for Brands Badmómzjay x ISLA Berlin

During my time at Universal Music Group for Brands, I had the opportunity to contribute to a collaboration between Badmómzjay and ISLA Berlin. As part of the creative team, I helped develop visual assets that aligned with both the artist’s identity and the brand’s aesthetic. My role included designing promotional materials, social media assets, and packaging elements to support the campaign.

This project allowed me to merge music, fashion, culture and branding while refining my skills in visual storytelling and design execution within a commercial context. A key feature was a unique grab-in window, transforming the design into an interactive and shareable experience.

Malaysia Unscripted

Malaysia Unscripted is a self-initiated project that captures the vibrant energy and cultural richness of Malaysia through analogue photography. Moving beyond just the streets, the project explores both urban and rural environments, showcasing the essence of everyday life through traditional darkroom techniques and experimental methods like double exposures and solarisation.

The work is presented both physically, through curated prints and posters for an exhibition, and digitally through a virtual exhibition, offering diverse ways to experience the project. This exploration has sharpened my technical skills and creative process, embracing the authenticity and beauty of analogue photography.
